Seventeen-plus years. One consistent throughline: ship it, lead it, grow the team.
A career spanning 2009 to today — from an entry-level developer role at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology to leading AI-supported tooling and technical delivery across MSQ DX.

MSQ DX March 2025 – Present Development / Technical LeadFull technical ownership from acquisition through delivery, across four countries
Own technical delivery end-to-end for client projects spanning Germany, Switzerland, Singapore, and the USA. As technical lead of the “AI Squad,” I’ve established AI-supported tooling and process optimization across the MSQ Group and for major clients — including an internal Client Toolsuite that replaced scattered manual processes, and an AI Prompt Builder that turned prompt engineering into a governed, repeatable capability. Beyond delivery, I mentor and coach up to 46 engineers in German and English, run recurring tech talks and internal training, shape strategic alignment at team, department, and company level, own resource monitoring and capacity planning, lead strategic recruiting across departments, and serve as the single point of contact for internal stakeholders and external partners. I also administer the company’s Jira and Confluence systems.

Drove the “New Online Shop” and “PIM System Introduction” initiatives as project lead, and took interim ownership of SEA, SEO, Analytics, Affiliate, and price-comparison marketing workstreams when needed. Set strategic goals at team, department, and division level; owned resource monitoring and capacity management; led bilingual (German/English) recruiting and team development; and administered the company’s Jira and Confluence systems.

Built responsive websites using PHP and JavaScript frameworks including Zend, Google Closure, AngularJS, and Laravel, alongside responsive TYPO3-based sites for agency clients — among them Teekanne and TOGGO. Also built 3D and VR applications with Babylon.js and Three.js, developed HTML5/JS online games, and built and maintained Facebook apps — a broad, hands-on stretch that pushed my frontend range well beyond standard CRUD web work.

KIT and smaller agencies 2009 – 2014 Earlier Career — Foundations
Where it started: five roles, one steady dedication
The years that built the foundation, starting as a software developer at the Karlsruher Institut für Technologie (KIT) — the research institution where a supervisor once told me I wasn’t suited for IT. From there, a string of PHP developer and team-lead roles at smaller Karlsruhe-region agencies (eyeworkers interactive, zibra media, mediachefs, ping24/7), including my first taste of combined team leadership and client acquisition. Short tenures, fast learning — the run-up to everything that followed.
